You can't do it that way.
How much time do you want to spend on this?
Which model laptop?
Does it have a working floppy?
If you do not have a LICENSE to install XP, you might consider busing Windows 98 instead. The laptop likely was licensed for Windows 98.
you'd better go to a repair shop.For the benefit of others, here is what he has:

When it was new the Compaq evo n400c sold for $2,877. The battery life was the lowest, at less than 2 hours. EVEN by 2002 standards, that was low.
And it came With 20GB hard drive. The 850-MHz processor is about average ten years ago.
{paraphrased from an old review}

Presently on eBay there are two for sale under $40. Feel free to ignore Computercare...

Why he selected that user name i have no idea. Quote from: Niorju on May 26, 2012, 12:31:38 AM
                   Ihave an old laptop ...
Now might be good time to turn it in for recycling.     Best Buy will take it; they recycle. to geek: it dont have floppy or cdrom because i lost its docking devices i want to rebirth this laptop because its memorable to me, pls help me
Notwithstanding the sound advice re your attempts to REJUVENATE this computer (IE: Don't waste your time) and to address this statement " i want to rebirth this laptop because its memorable to me". If your problem at the moment is because you do not have any hardware on the computer to input software media then as that model has 2 USB ports and assuming that you don't mind spending some money.Then both USB external floppy drives and external CD or DVD drives are available and relatively inexpensive.truenorth
