I am trying to install McAfee antivirus and it keeps saying I have to remove Norton Rescue Disk.  I cannot find it anywhere on my computer and have gone through all files, hidden and otherwise.  I did the Norton removal tool 3 TIMES and it doesn't remove it.  I cannot install McAfee without removing it.  Is there some other way to remove it or override it so I can install McAfee.  How to Remove the Norton VirusI did everything you said Patio but it didn't work.Not sure why that would not work...

Try installing AVG Free and see what happens.What is AVG and is it compatible with Norton?  Norton requires 512MB of space and I have 256MB so I have no choice but to go with another software?  I don't want to buy something I can't use because of that stupid rescue disk.  I got rid of everything Norton and SYMANTEC but it SAYS it's still there.Then you didn't follow all of the steps...
