Answer» I'm selling my old PC but want to ERASE everything on the HARD drive first. I'm using windows XP home and don't have a windows disk. How do I erase everything in one and MAKE it so nothing can be recovered? The cpu is also badly infected with VIRUSES, will doing a system whipe remove them too? thanksI have used this but it looks like it might do the job quite well: http://www.killdisk.com/Technical note: the CPU does not get infected by viruses, the harddrive does. If you put in another harddrive, or formatted the existing one, it should remove the viruses.
