Solve : Removing program files via MS-DOS?

Answer»

I want to remove all McAfee program files from my computer. It was pre-installed ORIGINALLY. Some of the files are hopelessly corrupted and I cannot remove the program using the control panel or program manager. What is the correct DOS command path to remove these files? Help.I wouldn't go mucking around deleting files via a Command Prompt panel using DOS commands. Get the freeware version of Revo Uninstaller and try it to remove McAfee. Thanks for the tip on Revo Uninstaller. It's an excellent utility... HOWEVER, it can't uninstall McAfee. Apparently, Revo relys on the resident uninstaller. In this case, that PART of the program is so broken it just won't run. I'm out of ideas. I know that eventually I'll get rid of it, especially with help from the forum.

In the meantime I have shut McAfee off so it doesn't run on boot up. Do you have any more suggestions? Thanks.Read about McAfee Consumer Products Removal tool (MCPR.exe) at http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?id=TS100507 and then try it. Quote

If you uninstall it via Revo and the resident uninstaller fails to run, it will still continue to LOOK for leftovers from the program.
