Answer» Hi and thanks for taking a look at my question. To learn how to Google, Clock Here. That's not what the OP is asking. I seem to recall something like this, although I may be thinking of some webmaster tools showing how people found my website, which is more in line with the PageRank stuff you found. It's POSSIBLE that it was something Google used to offer and no longer do, it's equally possible it was another search engine entirely. Sorry I can't be of much help, but if anything else occurs to me I'll post back - as I say, I seem to recall something similar. Was it this?: https://adwords.google.com/o/Targeting/Explorer?__c=1000000000&__u=1000000000&ideaRequestType=KEYWORD_IDEASQuote from: soybean on June 06, 2013, 06:06:15 PM Was it this?: https://adwords.google.com/o/Targeting/Explorer?__c=1000000000&__u=1000000000&ideaRequestType=KEYWORD_IDEAS For my part, it could well have been - it was a few years ago so it would've been when I was dealing with Google Webmaster tools and AdSense. Thanks Geek-9pm I hope you were just having a shot at me with that. But the graphics were great. I wish I KNEW how to make things like that happen. Thanks Calum, I think your on the money. The tool was a helper to let you know about your keyword/s. It gave a main circle with your keyword, then around it they gave several circles and each circle would have its own subdirectory of keyword suggestions again with lines connecting to another group of keyword circles with similar words. Misspelt words sometimes would also appear occasionally. After three or so you were so far away from the word you started with. The bigger the writing inside the circle the more popular the word or the more that word was searched for (and I'm pretty certain it was google). Thanks too for your suggestion soybean. That is mainly for pay per click keywords. I think that is mainly for advertisers that want to know words that will maximize their return by choosing a more popular word that people will search for, more often. Of course, like all computer related stuff, only 2 years ago is a lifetime of changes. Apparently my mobile phone now has more computing power than the the Space ship Columbia. Really,I think you can find the answer somewhere on Google. Look at this: http://www.webpronews.com/google-circles-search-results-2011-09 Google Shows Circle Counts for People In Search Results ... Lately, Google has been placing a lot of emphasis on the IMPORTANCE of who you are on the web. That’s why they want you to use your real name on Google+ (or more broadly, your Google Profile). This thinking certainly applies to search. This year, Google introduced authorship markup, which helps Google associate various content from a person with that person in search results, and ultimately gets that person’s profile prominence in Google search results. If you ever see a little image of a person off to the side of a search result, which is clickable (leading to that person’s profile), this is likely what you’re seeing. ... Is that it?Great links Geek-9pm thanks for that. I watched the videos there and they really explain the new google, trying to link to people now. ( I want to remain anonymous though.hehehe ). I went through a few older drives looking for the links that I used to use back then and the one link I was most positive was the one, now gets redirected to adwords, as linked by soybean. As I said, it was a couple of years ago I used it, so it seems as with everything else, it has been replaced with a new updated model. Adwords pages now show on the right hand side a column with related terms and a counter that has "The number 100 represents the peak search interest" for related terms, instead of 254,978 searches for this word. Lets say, search for "dishwasher" @ 100 then the sub menu is now 90, 80, 60, so on. Clicking on related terms gives me, "Best dishwasher" or "Bosch dishwasher" etc., clicking on one of those, takes me to that search term. So it seems they have taken out the pretty coloured circles and replaced it with a flat line graph that I can hover over to find how many searches were for that term. The more I use adwords, the more I am committed to that being what I used to use. ( not as pretty but functional I suppose). Soybean seems to have it in gold on this one. Thanks for your input everyone. ImnoGuru. In another direction, one web SIRE offers an Infographic Google Guide. Iinfographic ? What sis Infographic ? Lots of graphics, little content. For people that like comic books. http://www.howtogeek.com/98698/improve-your-google-search-skills-infographic/ Hey, not bad Geek-9pm. Guess I'm just a visual kind of guy. I found some other stuff too while I was there. About a multiple antivirus scanning site here I tried a file to scan, that was zipped and it came back 46 out of 46. OK. Pretty cool actually. I wonder if it can do a full check on my hard drive? |
