Solve : history stopped adding new websites?

Answer»

(sorry for my poor english...)

my browser history stopped adding new websites yesterday...
IM SURE i didnt do anything that might have caused this because it started to happen during something i do very often, and i didnt remove any files or anything...
the "days to keep pages in history" option is set to 999 as it was before, and nothing else seems to have changed...

however, i tried something and i think it might help: i removed one website from the history, and then entered another one... it then added the latter, but again could no longer add new websites... (one website removed - one website added)
i also tried this with 2 and 3 websites, and it seems to have a limit to the maximum number of websites which can be stored in the browser history...

so... is there such a limit?
and if there is, can i change it?Lemon Lime........ What operating system are you using ?
Which browser are you using ?
How many URLs do you have stored in your history ?
Are you sure it doesnt say 99 days and not 999 ?

Why dont you store your sites in favourites ?

let US know

dl65  Empty cache. It may be full.im using windows 98, internet explorer 6...

yes, im sure its 999, and i have like... millions of sites in my history which i dont keep in my favorites because i like them in the history...
i mean... i dont use them all, i just want a way of going back to them if i ever NEED to...

how do i empty the cache...?

(i had no internet for about a week... then i checked the history and the problem was gone!
but then after a few hours it stopped adding sites again...)IE>Tools>Internet Options.
The history file was never meant to be a bookmark file.
I have mine set on one day, I only need to know where I'm going, not where I've been.but i love my history! im deeply attached to it...
is there another way...? Quote

but i love my history! im deeply attached to it...
is there another way...?

Get organized and bookmark everything, then empty your history. Quote

If they are your favourites/history, but you don`t want to keep them on your PC,how much of a favourite are they really but on a serious note why dont you just copy the URLs to a rewritable CD, or even a floppy disk? Are you attached to ALL of them? Even deleting what you don't want from that LIST would help...
