Answer» I need a direct link to the Download file for SeaTools Thank you for helping me. It will let you zero out the drive. The hard drive manufacturer does the low level format.Quote It will let you zero out the drive. What does tis mean? Why zero? Why not 5 or 187 or any othr nnumber? Is zero beetter? I have seen this many times but never found an answer as to why zero is better. Or does it even matter?Quote from: Geek-9pm on November 06, 2011, 05:01:31 PM What does tis mean? Why zero? Why not 5 or 187 or any othr nnumber? Is zero beetter? I have seen this many times but never found an answer as to why zero is better. Or does it even matter? Because that's what it's always been called...it has zero to do with what NUMBER was used.OH! zero, like nada, empty, null, iunknown, or invisible. I used to use E5 to erase floppies. Now I know when we get the Drive we setup the Partitions we want and do a High Level Format on the Partitions we setup. And I know a High Level Format is just taking how many Sectors we will need for every Cluster and this is determind by the FAT we pick. Am I right on this?I think Windows does a write to the drive when you ask for a format. Here is somebody that thinks he is an expert. Judge for yourself. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYOrZ-CakrY WARNING:Don't ever, ever do what he does. That guy is never going to get a job. If he does, it could only be if his Mother owns the company. |
