Solve : selling laptop? |

Answer» Hey GUYS i'm gonna be selling my laptop for some extra dough. how would i CLEAN the hard drive and memory so none of my info is left???best I've found/used....many levels... will that program delete xp from the harddrive? answered your email...do you know of anything that will keep the operating system?is there a restore partition on your drive??? if so create restore disk, wipe the disk then restore from the restore disk..idk where could i look to find out? your not talking about system restore are you?if your laptop came with some disks use those to format and reinstall windows if when you start the computer and it has the option to recover at the boot screen than use that if none of those than you can ether format it and windows will be gone, call the maufacture to get recovery disks, find some software, or remove everything yourself. good luck and i hope i helpedno not system restore...if an OEM(hp/ibm/dell/etc.) laptop it usually has a partition for restoring the OS to the way it was delivered from OEM to you...you use it to do a complete recovery to initial conditions/software/etc. but if your selling it why care...wipe the disk...then your safe as you can be...better yet what are the specs and how much do you want for it and i might BUY it. my current one is a peice of junkDo you have your windows disk? http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/cleanxpinstall.htmlthanks for the HELP i found my xp disks |
