Answer» On April 6th, I gave my daughter a new Gateway Laptop for her birthday. She is now 1000 miles away and I am trying to help her solve one problem. Truth or BS?Later, not the former How would Gateway, or anybody, sell a computer with con conflicting software? Hard to believe. Still, barbecue it is new and was a gift, Gateway should be your first RECOURSE. There is the real possibility the machine has a problem that only Gateway can resolve. I am thinking of a hardware nor software error that they know about but only repair when it is brought to their attention. This is not meant to bad mouth Gateway. With all new products things happen that are not known until the product has been sold Also, the Skype forums report issues with some Gateway computers, but I think you need to ask Gateway first. BTW, it helps if you can give the exact model number. which OS and which version o Skype. Sorry I don' have more help. But wait, others will have some ideas. Please contact Gateway. http://support.gateway.com/us/en/support/default.aspx Note. Be aware that some who say they offer support are not from Gateway. The above is really Gateway. If that computer is still inside warranty, telephone support should be free. Data passed to daughter, who will make call.
