Answer» A game of mine that I was a big fan to stopped working, so I tried everything to get it back. I added all sort of registrys and uninstalled many programs. Now my gadget stopped working x( Only gadget on desktop.. looked to COOL I even had bough special HQ wallpapers for it. All I see si a really small image of a broken link and its like its not the gadget at all. It doesnt have the settings it had before. I tried by uninstalling and restoring it but that didnt work. Can someone help me please Actually all my gadgets wont work. Its like they are missing stuff or something like that.. :/ Quote I added all sort of registrys and uninstalled many programs. This may be why it no longer works...hmm.. might be. But the registries were given by the makers of the game, and no one really had problem like mine. Ok lets say its the registries fault. How can I fix it I am gonna try reinstalling javaHmm didnt work. Still.. I am trying to register jscript.dll whole day but it doesnt work. It says "The module "jscript.dll" was loaded but the call to DllRegisterServer failed with error code 0x80004005. Please help Ive been trying to do it 5-6 hour porbably by now :O I dont see why it gives me this error when I am the administator. I tried by clicking run as ADMINISTRATOR but it gives me the same problem. I found out that i need to register that dll when trying to install Adobe After Effect CS 4. (I had it before but it needed a reinstall). Please help x( P.S. I was trying to add the dl by changing the path in cmd to system32 than TYPING regsvr32 jscript.dll and also by changing the path to syswow64 and than typing again regsvr32 jscript.dll. I even tried with a registry fix program that I had on my computer called Ashampoo :/ Nothing worked : Quote from: br3akth3w1nd on December 04, 2010, 09:25:56 AM Hmm didnt work. Still.. I tried by clicking run as administrator but it gives me the same problem.you have to run it in a elevated command prompt. also: jscript.dll has nothing to do with java. Quote from: BC_Programmer on December 07, 2010, 02:59:52 AM you have to run it in a elevated command prompt.elevated? Explain :?run cmd.exe as an administrator. And, no, you didn't do that before, because if you do you start in %systemroot% and won't have to change the directory. once you're in there try running regsvr32 in system32 as WELL as in syswow64.OK I went in System32 and found cmd.exe . Right CLICK > run as administrator and typed in regsvr32 jscript.dll . I got the same error again. Same in Syswow64 Well no one could really help me and I got pretty desperate. I am trying this right now.. You may need to reset the registry permissions in Windows XP if Services Pack 3 fails to load and give an error Access Denied. In Vista the trouble is with Service Pack 1. Download the SubInACL.msi from Microsoft and install it . its a bit tricky. you have to install subinacl as an admin. i installed it to program files. it also installed in x86 (installed twice). i made sure all 4 files were in both folders (reset.cmd, subinacl.exe, subinacl.htm, and tooldownloadreadme.htm) after the install. then run the reset.cmd in an elevated command prompt from the folder (program files not the x86) save the code below as reset.cmd subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE /grant=administrators=f subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_CURRENT_USER /grant=administrators=f subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT /grant=administrators=f subinacl /subdirectories %SystemDrive% /grant=administrators=f subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE /grant=system=f subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_CURRENT_USER /grant=system=f subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT /grant=system=f subinacl /subdirectories %SystemDrive% /grant=system=f subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE /grant=administrators=fsubinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_CURRENT_USER /grant=administrators=fsubinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT /grant=administrators=fsubinacl /subdirectories %SystemDrive% /grant=administrators=fsubinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE /grant=system=fsubinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_CURRENT_USER /grant=system=fsubinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT /grant=system=fsubinacl /subdirectories %SystemDrive% /grant=system=f Run the script it may take a few seconds to run it will count percentage done. Restart the PC then re-run the Service Pack it will work fine.I see nothing but registry subterfuge going on here... What tool do you use to backup the registry before mucking around in there ? ? Just curious. If you're referring to the subinacl tool it's a very powerful, useful utility. I've used it and recommended it any number of times. But it needs to be used with care as it can also lock you out of your system if the script changes aren't exact.Idk.. I was ready to try anything. Didnt know what exactly that thing will do to my computer actually. Pretty stupid and desperate reaction. Well.. this kind of solved the problem. Messed up my computer so now I gotta reinstall windows lol. I hope I dont mess my computer again after rainstall. More info: I didnt wait for the thing to finish.. I just closed it because it took too much time. Not I cant really run anything.. it says that there is not enough free memory *censored*?! lol. Even explorer.exe says that. Altho some programs like photoshop work, really strange. All drivers are.. wiped. At least I can store my memory before reinstall ;d Bye for now guys, and dont start things without knowing exactly what they do like I did. |
