I am looking for software that I can install to be able to read text from a scanner.. NOTHING elaborate or complicated.... but on occasion would like to be able to do it.. for home use...would appreciate any suggestions..

Many commercial programs are available. Many are packed with a scanner.
Mulch-Function printers made by Brother, Epson and HP are examples.

LarryYou are welcome! i knwo that some scanners already have OCR BUILT into them as a function and providing the font is clear enough they can scan straight to word/pdf FORMATS.
