What is the file file size of the .ISO? If it's over 700 MB I suspect it is an .ISO from a DVD. Many of the apps suggested thus far will probably not work on a DVD .ISO. Both of mine will.Quote

It's a copy of some foreign LANGUAGE SOFTWARE.

According to my friend, the files are torrent files, but neither of us can figure out what do with them. I keep coming ACROSS the BitTorrent program in my internet searches, but I'm not QUITE sure if it's what I'm looking for -- do I need to download that program to get my software to work? The software is a program for learning French, if that's any help.

I don't know much about the cd or the software -- it's something that's been making the rounds through my classmates,
