Answer» I keep opening microsoft word, but it is continually loading a previous document I have created. Please help. Thanks.Microsoft Word 2002Does it automatically load, or is it asking you if you want to load it?
What's the title of the document? Does it have the title you SAVED it as, or does it just say "New Word Document"?Probably the easiest way to resolve this is to do a search on your PC for a file named Normal.dot (note .dot NOT .doc extension) and delete it, when you rebtart Word it will be recreated and you should be back to normal. If you have customizations or preferences saved in your new doc template, i.e. the Normal.dot file, that you don't want to lose, do this instead of deleting it. Open Normal.dot, delete the TEXT, and then click SAVE As, select Document Template (*.dot) for Save as type, and name it Normal.
To open Normal.dot, you'll need to navigate to it or do a search to find it. It's probably in "C:\DOCUMENTS and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates\Normal.dot". Of course, substitute your actual username for username.Alright thanks guys. I'll tell you if it works, the document that keeps coming up is a document I created long ago. It's as if it is a normal document template. Anyways when I open it up I usually just delete the words and START from scratch. I have tried saving it, but since it's a template (or at least i'm pretty sure it is) it's kinda worthless.Re-read my reply. You haven't done what I suggested. If it's not clear, state what point(s) are not clear to you. Thanks I ended up deleting them and word recreated the normal template without the textThanks for posting back. Glad to hear you got it fixed.
