Solve : Sound abruptly stops, cause unknown? |

Answer» When playing sound of any format on my machine, it will often cut out suddenly. I know it's not my speakers because when testing in windows media player, the video STOPS at the same time. Well, thanks for your excellent advice! I looked around and found that DxDiag is the BEST way to go, so here's the file. Sorry it's so big, but you guys seem to be really knowledgeable and I figure you know what things to look for.bump- I have the dxdiag file now so you can see all of my system specs PRECISELY. please let me know anything you can find out by reading through it- it's all greek to me. My speakers are still stopping abruptly and I have no idea what the cause is (note for new readers: I've TESTED the speakers, it's not a hardware problem)That's overkill on one hand but it's still not really enough info on the other hand. When did this start? Did you update the driver via the M$ Update site? Visit the motherboard vendors support area for your board and download the driver directly from there. Uninstall the current driver and point the installer at your new driver. |
