Answer» HI there, I have a Dell GX620 that I just UPGRADED to WINDOWS 7. All of the drivers loaded fine with the exception of the sound card. I have an identical computer that is running XP right next to it, and took a look at the sound card driver info there. Here's what it gave me (more info available if necessary on request): SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio Driver Provider: Analog Devices Dell doesn't have the driver, SoundMAX doesn't give drivers, searched high and low on the internets. I tried a few likely workarounds (try the XP driver, try the drivers from similar models), all failed. Anybody have an idea? The driver was available in Windows Update as an optional install. I FEEL stupid.Glad you got it fixed... However Windows Update should be the LAST choice for Driver updates...
