I took the advice and installed the updated driver for my sound card. Still nothing. My computer reconizes the hardware,  and says that it's updating the system settings, but still no sound. If my sound card was bad or not working would my computer still be able to reconize it....or could my problem be my speakers or something else? Please HELP!is your sound card compatible with your OS ? I had the same problem with Win 98. If you don´t want to change the OS, try to donload the right drives from a cd of a dfiferent OS... it works!Have you checked your sound CONFIGURATION to see if none of the options are muted?i need help!!!!my pc is nackerd! there is NO sound...nothing is muted..the sound card is recognised on some extent however it also says there is not one in the SOUNDS and audio device properties.whats going on!?!? You may have the wrong drivers loaded. Use Everest Home Edition (free downlaod) and identify the device. What is the computer make/model and what is the correct sound card if you know? (Not what WINDOWS says)
