Solve : Speed Fan 4.39 question?

Answer»

Working on a old Gateway desktop running XP.
History : This is an old computer my daughter used and I was tryign to get it useable for my 7 yr old Godson. Reformatted the HDD got rid of all the bugs etc etc with help from here.

It still ran sluggish so I downloaded speedfan thinking it could be a heat problem. Fans always running high it seemed. Right now speedfan says Fan 1 3491 RPM and fan 2 0 shouldn't both fans be running and how do I turn teh second one one.

Local temp 95f
remote temp 106f

Thanks in advance,
MP. Take a look at the fans with the case open and the computer on.  Are they both running?  My guess is that they are.  SpeedFan does not recognize all fans on all motherboards.  I think that's the crux of the situation here.  YEP thats it!

I figured since it saw two it could monitor them.

But the fans do run eratic and you can hear them kick into high gear alot.
What shoudl I try or do next.

Thanks. Quote

Broni, he quoted Fahrenheit, not Celsius.  So, those temps are not really out of line.I understand it's F. I'm not sure what "local" and "remote" temperatures are. Quote from: Broni on October 30, 2009, 08:45:35 PM

My point was that those temps are really not "Hot".I think, I need 2nd COFFEE Local is near the DESK....remote is out in the garage...
