Answer» People install sounds cards for two reasons: 1. On-board sound stopped working. 2. They want better sound, than provided by on-board.I think I installed the driver wrong...
I didn't uninstall the previous one first...
Oh and i searched and I'm thinking if this site might WORK...
http://www.updrivers.com/drivers/Sound_Card/Creative/Sound_Blaster_Live_Value-Windows_XP_2000/20030.html
it doesn't seem like a good resource for drivers though...
The above link won't do anything, but ask you for money.hi all
just opened up the CASE and dust was everywhere...
so i CLEANED it with some very cautious vaccuming and using a brush...
I noticed a cord from the sound car was loose but I assumed it didn't matter..
any way i installed an NVIDIA 7800 GTX 512 to replace the 6600 gt and i installed new 2 gb ddr2 RAM...
I put it back together and I go to install the new driver for the video card and I notice some clicking noises... so I go to DIAXDIAG and test the sound, and I don't believe it but it works!!!
I go and play a music file and ... voila! It works!
So i guess this ISSUE is closed and thankyou all who contributed (Eg. Broni (especially),BC_Programmer,etc.) for your time, efforst and expertise. Sorry for all the confusion...
THankyou all Great news good to hear it's all remedied!
