Answer» I trust this is the right forum.....?? In checking AROUND the 'inner workings' of my pc, I found this : Rate and improve computer performance
Subscore & base score were both 3.2
Explain, please, & is this a good thing? If, not, should something be fixed ? The Windows Performance Index gives a subscore from 1.0 to 7.9 to various aspects of your computer:
PROCESSOR calculations per second RAM speed Graphics performance (desktop, Windows Aero) Gaming graphics Primary hard disk
The base score is the same as the lowest subscore.
You didn't say what your subscores were. This machine I am on now, I bought in 2010 - 3 GHZ AMD quad core Phenom II, 4GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 8200 onboard video, scores 7.6 for the processor, and 5.9 each for the disk and RAM, 4.9 for gaming graphics, and 3.4 for desktop performance. These last two are low because of the relatively low performance of the onboard video. I have not added a display card. I am not interested in gaming anyhow. Thus my overall score is 3.4. Do I care? NO.
If your computer is performing OK, then you don't need to do anything. Just ignore the performance FIGURES. Most people do.
