Answer» Both computers are older Dell units, one a desktop and the other a laptop. Both have WINDOWS XP and Windows 10.
I have one partition on each unit that has my DATA stuff. Documents, Music, downloads and that kind of thing. Both are drive E: om each machine. I have often used Sybc toy2.1 ** to make the laptop E: drive have an exact copy of the contents on the desktop E: drive. I use XP on both for the job.
OK, today I used it and got a lot of failures. Mostly files. Over 1500 files con not be overwritten. This is the first time ever I have got so many failures. I got 1500 + failures!
**(Sync TOY is a Microsoft freebie.)
I am thinking maybe it is because the target is a network drive. But I have don this before. What did I do wrong today? Maybe tomorrow I will try again.
Meanwhile, I thought I would ask if anybody here understands how this would ever happen. I am sure this worked very well last month with very few failures.
Any comments welcome. Thanks in advance. I have had plenty of drives that worked very well right up till they failed. I had a dog that was very fit and healthy until he dropped DEAD.
