Solve : System is not booting after adding USB2.0 card in motherboard?

Answer»

Dear All,

My PC currently supporting USB 1.0. I need to update it to USB 2.0, for this purpose I bought a new Intex USB card 2.0. I assembled it to my motherboard, but when I swith on the system, it is not at all booting.

System SPecification:
Processor: AMD Athelon 64 bit
Mother Board: MSI
OS: Windows XP

The USB iam trying to install is Intex USB  card 2.0.

Please tell me what causing the problem and how can i get rid of it. If you need more information, please do ask me.
Thanks in advance.........Does the computer work when you take the card out?Yes, my system will work when I take out the USB card. I have a doubt, is there anything like the motherboard is no supporting this USB card? I just insert it in the PCI slot, is there anything more I have to do?Have you checked your BIOS settings to see what your USB settings are?

Have you RAN Windows Update lately, to check for any updates RELATING to this issue? The card could be DOA...return it for another...
Also what other PCI slots are populated ? ?
Do you have more than one open PCI slot?
If you do, try the card in another PCI slot.I don't have another open PCI slot. I have my network card installed in one slot, i will remove it and try as you said. But do you have any idea what causing this problem? I have one more information, my USB card having two 'n' shape divisions (sorry, i don't know exact word to mention it), but my PCI slot is having only one division. All i need to know is, whether the mother board will SUPPORT it or not?Your motherboard should support it.

Try it in another slot and if it STILL doesn't work return it....and then try another one.
