Solve : Tab not working for bullet lists in Word?

Answer»

I use bullet lists in Microsoft Word (2007) all the time, but just recently the Tab button stopped indenting the bullet point. It used to be that when I hit Tab, the bullet point would move a few SPACES to the right and turn from a black dot to a WHITE dot with black outline, but now the bullet point stays the same and only the CURSOR moves. Do you know how to fix this?

THANKS,
BrianNot sure why it would magically stop doing that, but there are various options for autoformat in Word. Look under tools (that's where it is for Word 2003, anyway!) and see if you have unchecked the box for automatic bulleted lists and such. If so, recheck that box and see if the problem goes away.Find your normal.dotm file and rename it, with Word closed. Then, re-open Word. Did that fix it?

normal.dotm is the default TEMPLATE file that stores your settings for Word. It can become corrupt. The above procedure creates a new normal.dotm file.
