Answer» I want to unplug my hard drive (drive c:\) and plug in a NEW drive. I want to install Vista on the new drive. I will then drive several miles with the new drive to a shop with a HIGH speed connection. They will update the new drive with all the service PACKS Vista always ASKS for. Now: When I take the drive back home and REINSTALL it will Vista function? Is there a better way?It should work. I do not see why not.Hmm...this is interesting question. In my opinion, it won't work. When you install Vista on new hard drive, Vista installation will be tied up with your computer configuration, and it won't recognize shop computer configuration. Your best bet is for shop guys, or even a friend to burn all updates to CD, or DVD, and you can install them yourself.
