Answer» The problem is, I dont know the soundcard name And the windows cant FIND it
So The question was, How can i install a sound card that i dont know his name/model? Are there no entries in Device Manager -> Control for Audio, Video and Games?
Has this soundcard stopped working all of a sudden? Has it ever worked at all?
Did you take proper precautions when installing it?
Provide me with more details.. And donot CREATE a new topic, stick to ONE topic instead.I will say it again... The sound card was working just fine, but i had to format drive c: and install Windows xp again, i thought that xp will AUTO install my sound card but he didnt
Now when i GO 2 Device maneger i dont c nothing on control and audio...
Now u understand man ?Turn off your computer, ground yourself, reinsert the soundcard and see if it properly detects it this time. If necessary, use a different PCI slot.
Before doing so, verify that Windows XP did not detect your soundcard by going to Windows Update and looking under the driver section to see if there are any drivers avaible for your soundcard.LOL Man, I wish i could just change the pci slot, the problem is That the sound card is on the bored... on the mother bord Thats a problem
But ill check again for update and stuff and i hope it will work
Thank you manIf it is onboard, you will have to install (updated) motherboard drivers.
If that does not work, see if the soundcard is enabled in your BIOS.Since it is an on-board "sound card", the motherboard manufacturer's site should have appropriate drivers for the sound device. Windows doesn't have drivers for everything. Occasionally, you must go to the manufacturer.
Hope this helps.
