Answer» t_blake07. I would urge you to become more familiar with how torrents work and how to OPTIMIZE your computer to enhance the speed of the connection to torrents. I assume you are using a high speed connection of some kind (it would be pointless to try and utilize torrents on a dial up modem--unless you have the patience of Job). The existence of firewalls can be a DETERMINER of torrent speed and access. As well you most likely will need to do a manual reconfiguring of your router and also assign a port that is the one (actually a range of ports) that is most often used by torrents. I suggest a google SEARCH on how to set up routers, assign ports, configure firewalls. HTTP://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.torrent is an excellent description of torrents. http://www.utorrent.com/guides.php more help. This is a very popular one that is pretty reliable http://www.torrentspy.com/ (try to ignore the graphics). As with any P2P service be extremely carefull of downloading certain file extensions IE: exe, zip, rar as they can and do often have nasties in them. good luck ,truenorthQuote from: t_blake07 on February 07, 2008, 10:49:28 PM Well it has 70 files. Way to tell us you're breaking laws... |
