Solve : Torrents- error says not enough room... but there is 3 times the free space??

Answer»

Hi all...

Hoping for some Turrent help, I've searched the help centre at Vuze without success...

I'm downloading a torrent, it's 4gig and when I started I had 9 gig free on my HD. It continually stops with an error that says "there is not enough free space on the drive: write fails, flush fails"

Am I doing something WRONG? I made a EXTRA 4 gig free and 'rechecked' the torrent, it started again (picked up from the same place) but the same error continues...

it's driving me nuts!

:-)

Free up some more space on your drive .

Rex .

About 10gbs or so . What is the size of your HD?
WINDOWS needs 15% free space.

Windows is on C with an 8 gig drive and about 1.5gig free...

I'm downloading to D with 13 gig free... still no good! I've cleaned and defrag'ed both drives, and checked both for faults etc...

Most likely Windows writes some temporary files on the drive where it's installed, C, in this case.
Since it has only 1.5GB free, it may be not enough to deal with 4GB file.I've downloaded files to D that are larger than the available space on C... so I ruled that out. But if thats the case I think a new partition could be in order...

Thanks!

I think a new hard drive is in order.
How would a new partition help?  more room on C and more free space on C? I have ample room on D I could free up another 10gb there... put 20 gb on C leave 15gb free on D...
should be ample to download 4gb files?

I'd also go for new HD.Is your file system NTFS ? ?
