|
Answer» Question: I installed a new, larger capacity HD as the MAIN one is making strange noises. I'd like to transfer the data from the old to the new and tried with Quickmirror. The transfer never works, saying some files can't be transferred. Is there a better program for this task? ... I dont know of any how of free any how.huh? CloneZilla can do the cloning and also some partition resizing. In fact I just used ddrescue (a program INCLUDED on the CloneZilla disk) to clone a faulty (i.e. physically damaged) hard drive. CloneZilla can be a little intimidating at first, but for most purposes you can just run it in beginner mode and it's a piece of cake. I ment to say, that I didnt know, of any free software that would do this. There are at least 7 Free apps that will do this... Out of those the 2 best would be Macrium Reflect...and CloneZilla. And the WORST paid app is Ghost. Quote from: patio on March 27, 2012, 10:12:13 AM There are at least 7 Free apps that will do this... Macrium appears not to be free for commercial use.Correct....Home use only. I should have been more specific. You will be punished. |
