Answer» I'm trying to upgrade to Mcafee ver 9 on my Windows XP Pro. I continue to get the message that there is a previous version 4.5.1 that needs to be removed prior to installation. I have been thru the entire C drive, been as far as I know to GO in the registry, and still get the same message. Anyone know where else to LOOK?WELL, does it tell you where? does it have a path name(i.e. C:\My Documents, etc.)? Also, have you tried asking the computer to find it for you?You may have to reinstall 4.5.1 then remove it with it's own uninstaller. Failing that, check the Mcafee website. Use AVG as a temporary solution, you will probably dump Mcafee after using AVG anyway.
