Solve : Unaccounted-for Disk Space?

Answer»

Attached here is a SCREENSHOT (the directory in question is my root folder, C:) of a report from foldersize.exe, a utility that shows the sizes of folders in a directory, as well as the files in that directory, together with Windows Explorer showing what is actually found in C:\. (Hidden files and folders are enabled.)

Notice the 1.22 Gb, 7 files. The Windows Explorer shows NOTHING of the sort. Any ideas?

[recovering disk space - OLD attachment deleted by admin]This week's hot topic.

1) System Restore eats a lot of space. If you want to disable system restore you'll gain a bunch of space back
2) You can delete confi.msi folders
3) Empty your temporary INTERNET files folder and your recycle bin
