Answer» I was looking at my control panel-Add/Remove list and I have a program called Xed that's it just Xed It uses 625 MB so It's kind of sizable. I was wondering if anybody else has this thing? If so what is it? What does it do? and most important. Can i delete it? I'm partial to having programs that I installed and understand their purpose for being on my COMPUTER. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Might be Xed mp3 converter... Can you locate it on the Program Files first? Look for the XED folder. XED: An XML document instance editor. First; Thank you all for the help. jason2074 No I cannot find the program file for Xed I also looked in the common files folder and the MS file folders. Hmmmm. Geek-9pm I went to the link you suggested and now I really have no clue as to why I have this program. I have never generated an online document (that I know of) I don't know anything about http's and have never known a DED or whatever. Is this possible LINKED to another program. I never play any game online. the only online typing I do are forums. Like this one the outline is already fashioned so i don't need a program that ensures that my format is correct. I'm just not liking this Xed thing the more I know about it , the less I like it. If it were me, I would create a new folder on my desktop. Then I would find the program and move it to then new folder. If it can not be moved that would mean it is in use. The search tool will find it if it is there. Sometimes the Add/Remove list is wrong.I can give it a shot, Let you know what happens! Quote The search tool will find it if it is thereUsed advanced Search(all Files) for the particular file or program. Or you could used MLIN CPL Standalone Exe Version(34 KB) to check for the common or related file that might be running just to be sure. http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtmlOpen regedit and navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall Find Xed and in right pane you may find some EXTRA info. |
