Solve : URGENT! NEED HELP!?

Answer»

This problem occured out of total randomness. I just open my laptop one day, and on the connections icon it says :Connection Unknown Dependancy service or group failed to start

Therefore I'm not able to connect to any wireless internet connections, and suddenly, I can't diagnose the problem, it won't even let me do it manually.

I don't know how this happened... as I said, complete randomness. PLEASE HELP Quote from: Arsenalftw on July 08, 2008, 08:11:57 AM

How many connections did you have to choose from?  Any of them actually belong to you?   I'm at my cousins house, and there's 5 wireless networks to chose from. For the past week basically, I've been able to use one wireless connection (the one that belongs to my COUSIN) and all of a sudden, this problem occured. STILL need helpI did some Google searching but haven't found anything I feel is really helpful here.  Anyone else have some thoughts on this?Just a thought but he may want to list any services that are shown to be disabled....
Have you been customising them by chance ? ?I'm no computer expert, so I don't really know what you're talking about :x I didn't fiddle around with anything, I just turned on my laptop one day, and found that I couldn't connect to any wireless networks (even though there were PLENTY). Quote

Who do those networks belong to?Well I don't know but one of them belongs to my cousin (its the one my laptop automatically connects to). What about other four?
Let me ask you straight. Are you, by any chance stealing someone's signal?I don't know about the other four,  I can't connect to them since they're security locked, the one I connect to is an un-secured network.I asked you very simple, straight question. And I answered your question.Well I was just fiddling around with the control panel, and I ended up getting a list of avaliable wireless networks (when the problem occured, the list of wireless networks just vanished). So I tried to connect to the wireless network that belongs to my cousin (It's the only one I can connect to anyways, others are password locked so). Usually, it takes around 5 seconds for it to connect, but now it took around 15 seconds and when it was done, it said :Connection Unsuccesful (When I hovered my mouse on the 2 computer icon on the bottom right hand corner, it said I'm connected with limited connectivity), and it gave me a choice to diagnose the problem. For some strange reason, it won't let me diagnose the problem. So now, it said I'm connected with limited connectivity, and when I go to properties, it says I recieved no packages (I've sent but haven't recieved). I'm really confused in all this, before I was able to connect WITHOUT any problems, then this started to happen :/

try stopping and restarting the "windows zero wireless service"

click on start, then run. type "service.msc" scroll down to the windows wireless one and restart it using the restart button on the left hand side.

I somethings find that a good old disable and re-enable does wonders.

click on start and then control panel. Open network connections and right click the wireless one, select disable. Once the wireless icon has gone from the system tray, right click it again and click enable.

If that doesn't WORK, I'd start reinstalling my network drivers.

Hope it helps.
