Solve : usb flash drive?

Answer»

I hope this is where I should be, if not sorry, please explain where.I'm having problems with a usb flash showing at all, except in device MANAGER under DISK drives. I have 4 slots, and have tried them all, other things work in them, I've tried the devices in others computers- they work. When I open "my computer" there is not drive that shows.should be something like g . nothing. When I plug in my webcam it shows,my printer shows. I want to move save some stuff before getting a new computer and I thought a flash drive would be the easiest--huh-. I have xp-sp2 running IE7. I have used this device before on this computer, now I can't. Also cannot use my memory cards my mronter card reader. Whaaaat did I do. Thanks I dont know why it doesnt show and how to FIX that, but I can tell you how to access ur flash drive. Insert it in the pc and then click the small icon on the BOTTOM right of the screen, at the taskbar, the icon that says Safely Remove Hardware. You'll get something like "Safely Remove USB Mass Storage Device - Drive(G:)". Maybe yours isnt G:, It can be H:, I: or anything. Now open "my documents" or any other folder, and write the letter of the usb flash drive (G:) at the address bar. Press Enter. You should have accessed your USB.if this is a laptop try wiggleing it around maybe reboot too
and otherwise
are you tring to connect this to a front usb slot?
if you are try a rear slow
hope that made sense i am busy no time for long postThanks for reply , I tried the folder thing you suggested, It does show as G, but I still can't seem to get stuff moved to it. sorry- my dumb. JKRight click My Computer...select Manage...then Disk Management.
Find the USB drive and right click it and select Properties...
Report back with your findings...Have you tried a different usb drive just to make sure the drive isn't bad? Or try the drive in a different computer.Quote from: ADG on August 25, 2009, 07:54:40 AM

To ADG --I have done all that, .
and to Smeezekitty, this does not concern a laptop, and yes I've tried all ports, and different usb's, and the purpose of the post was to get "help" with a problem.
