Solve : Video Controler Driver?

Answer»

My grandson's computer was built for him.   We just replaced the hard drive and installed 2000.  The picture on the screen is kind of shattered and difficult to read.  The only writing we can see on the video card is "GREV" and I can't find any manufacturer with that name.   Can you give me any info? Can you try another MONITOR?

Is that what's on the card or what's on the display?

What EXACTLY comes up on the screen when you BOOT?The flat screen monitor worked normally before the hard drive crashed and the Device Manager has a ? in front of the Video Controller.
The picture on the screen looks like a dot matrix. You can see what you are doing but it's difficult to read small print.Should we be looking for Display Adapter drivers instead of Video?Yes. Try that and post back. What is listed under Display Adapter? Thanks for the help so FAR.   I talked to the computer builder and he doesn't have any records of what video card he  installed.   The invoice only says $76.00, no discription.   I'm going to PULL the card out so I can see the other side.  Hope there is some info there.  If not,  I'll get the chip number and chase that.Or you can DLoad and install Everest Home for FREE and it will tell you what card is in there...
