Just updated my VLC to this version. I've had VLC for years and GOM Player for a shorter time, and up till now I've preferred GOM Player but the gap has been narrowing with every new VLC release. Maybe this will be the one that tips me over the edge... What I have always liked about VLC is its built-in-codecs feature, and how it plays many files other players refuse.

I also use both VLC and GOM (with GOM as the default)Some of the fancy video tricks are a bit unfinished... I locked it up trying the "video wall" feature, so that I had to kill it in Task Manager.
Thanks for the suggestion Allan. As VLC has been my almost exclusive video media player i am looking forward to giving this new version a ROAD test. Also appreciate that when selecting to install the new version detected the presence of the older version and removed it as a part of the process of the upgrade.truenorthYes, uninstalling the previous version has always been part of the VLC installer. Very well designed product all around.
