I bought another webcam but the new webcam just wouldn't install too. What's wrong with my PC? My PC is using windows XP, but it used to be windows ME. Are you installing the XP drivers ? ? The WinME drivers won't work in XP...Thank you for your reply. I reinstalled the WHOLE windows xp professional. After that, any webcam won't work. Remove the webcam in Device Manager. Remove the webcam software in Add/Remove programs. Power down and unplug the CAM Power up and after XP loads completely install the cam software...it will tell you when to plug it in.

Did you install webcam driver?If it's a USB device it needs the SOFTWARE to be installed first.
Remove the webcam in Device Manager.
Remove the webcam software in Add/Remove programs.
Power down and unplug the CAM
Power up and after XP loads completely install the cam software...it will tell you when to plug it in.
