ok when you hit ctrl+alt+del it shows a list. in processes theres something called "System" not "System Idle Process" but just system. what is it? Stays constantly at 100 no matter what i do. any way to fix it?Depends on what Tab you are viewing in TASK Manager...in one of them the CPU % is always at 100% or all processes need to add up to that total.nah man its just that single process that takes up everything. everything is really slow. i've tried everything i can think of. no viruses on the comp or anything of that sort.DLoad and install Process Explorer...then spend some time in the Help file....you can view each single process and what other processes are running off it/ dependent on it etc.
There are 4 or 5 graph views you can use that may clarify things...i'm not convinced anything is wrong yet.
How does this machine run ? ?The klez worm, some trojans and backdoors cause it, ZoneAlarm can, try unplugging USB devices... the machine runs REALLY slow like it takes 1 hour to load up. and i already checked for viruses. no zonealarm on it and it has NO usb devices connected to itHDD could be dying.
