Solve : What's the worth of an FTP Client for a Normal Web User??

Answer»

Hi Guys!

FTP Clients like SmartFTP, CuteFTP have caught my attention a no. of times, but have remained an untouched realm for me!

Can some one please tell me the WORTH of an FTP Client for a normal web user like me?!

I mean, can I use any one of these to initiate a Fast &  a Reliable uploading of my Photos/Videos on say, Picasa,Flickr....or any service like that?

& finally...Please..Please do not give me a 'COPY-PASTE' DEFINITION of FTP or anything like that..!
I use an FTP client to UPLOAD pictures to my own web site. Easy and quick. I get lost in  Clip Shack. I keep a shortcut to the FTP client on my desktop. I have never used it to log  into some other site.
But there all kinds of FTP clients. Even Netscape will let you FTP. Some other application programs too."a normal web user" usually does not need an FTP client.  I have an FTP client  (WS_FTP) installed on my Win XP system and use it to upload/download web page files from a web server.  I could be wrong but I believe this is the most common usage of FTP clients.  So, if you don't develop and/or maintain a website, you PROBABLY have no need for an FTP client. But No. of prominent companies have started offering Webspaces to an individual users, to upload their content, like "Google Sites"; so can't I use an FTP Client to upload content on my individual Web Space?

Similarly, I have a Picasa account, exclusively meant for my purpose! So really is it possible?A normal user won't need an FTP client.  If you need to do any uploads to any websites that you run then you may need a client.  Also, if you do any type of web development, an FTP client will be helpful. Such free webspace services as Google Sites or Yahoo's GEOCITIES do not require FTP.  In fact, they SIMPLY don't accommodate use of FTP at all.

Same case as free webspace; you don't need FTP to use a Picasa account.
