Answer» Hi - I followed the advice in this forum and downloaded EaseUS TODO Backup. No problem. I then ran it. No problem. I found the result in a folder in "C:\My Backups". My question is this. If my computer crashes will not the backup be lost? Shouldn't any backup be on a disk so that it can be STORED away from the computer? BobYes. Common PRACTICE is to either use and eternal drive or add another drive to your desktop. If a Laptop, the options are external hard drive or DVD-R.
When creating the backup you can point it to any other HDD/partition... I burn my disc images once a Month to DVD's...Thanks for the replies. I'm not too good at this but I will try the disk next time. BobIt's probably easier to copier to an extern hard drive than to burn stuff onto DVD. Raptor - Thanks for the advice. As I said I am not too good but when I get READY next time I'll try something different. A couple of years ago I tried using Windows backup on a disk. I never got it to do right and gave up. Fortunately I have never needed a backup so I haven't missed anything. Bob

I don't think any of the Windows wizards are useful, it's BETTER to do it by hand or use more professional software like you are doing now.
