Solve : WIN98 cannot boot in normal? |
|
Answer» its my day-off today, im in internet cafe as of now to log this problem A real Windows CD would be very helpful - now and in the future. THere is no "sytem restore" built into Win98 as such. WHat did you do in TCPIP settings? Sytem Mechanic does have issues so be careful with stuff like that. It can turn a stablesystem into what you have now all by itself. thanks for the reply GX1_Man TCPIP- im trying to rebuild it because he cannot connect thru dial-up does you have any idea how to fix this WIN98 cd- its not so easy to get the original, because we are 50 miles from the city and one more thing, earning $3/day here in our place its not so easy to buy orig (even pirate) Thats why internet cafe here is very popular is there any chance to fix it?You can try this. Nothing to lose and it might help: http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htmok thanks GX1_man i will dl'd it already can i install it in safemode? (because if you see my first post, only safemode is accessible) try to verify this, i got the following message in other forum [highlight]Google doesn't find odilhlp.exe, and that's the program that seems to cause the lockup. Ask your friend what it is, and why it is in the autoexec.bat. After all, it's his computer. Then boot into safe mode and use MSCONFIG (or Notepad, whatever you like) to disable or remove this line in autoexec.bat. See what happens now if you boot.Google doesn't find odilhlp.exe, and that's the program that seems to cause the lockup. Ask your friend what it is, and why it is in the autoexec.bat.
