Solve : Window Update wont update drivers? |
Answer» Hello, Comp specs - Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3570 CPU 3.40GHz Manufacturer Intel Speed 3.4 GHz Number of Cores 4 Video Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Manufacturer NVIDIA Chipset GeForce GTX 650 Dedicated Memory 2.0 GB Total Memory 3.9 GB Memory 8.2 GB Operating System Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Edition Service Pack 1 (build 7601), 64-bit Service Pack 1 Size 64 Bit Edition Home Premium Display Maximum Resolution 1920 x 1080 DVD TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-224BB CD TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-224BB Drive Size 931.4 GB Free 767.6 GB ( A custom built computer by cyber power) Im currently using McAfee secruity scan plus (which when i try to OPEN says "error initializing updater interface) but hopefully that is not the problem the problem is that window updater wont work it doesn't say error or anything along those guidelines it just says "restart" and as i have done i tried it restarts etc but No Drivers update so my graphics card and other drivers wont update and haven't been updated for a year or so (which i only noticed when i was trying to update my Video/Graphics card). So then i check my window update and i have set it on all the recommended settings (install updates automatically every day etc) and when i check update history nothing has EVER been updated and i am not very good with tech so i am rather confused. Thanks for taking your time to read ! First of all, you NEVER want Windows Update to update your drivers. You always want to obtain the drivers from the oem websites (or, if it's a laptop, from the website of the laptop manufacturer). Second, you don't update drivers unless there is a SPECIFIC need or reason to do so. The fact that they haven't been updated in a while is irrelevant. Thanks ^_^ sorry i didn't know if it was a problem or not but thankyou for your time !No problem, that's why we're here. You should really change Windows Update to only install critical updates. |
