1.	Solve : Windows 98 won't open explorer problem?
Answer» I Was Trying To Fix My Sound On Windows 98 And Somehow Messed Up My Computer.? My computer turns on and shows the windows 98 startup SCREEN but when it tries to open wins 98 it says there is a problem with explorer file and won't do anything else. I BOUGHT this computer used with no backup disk or wins 98 disk, so I'm not sure what I can do. Any suggestions? :-?Try booting into Safe Mode, remove the sound drivers from Device Manager and REBOOT / also you can try upgrading to XP. Alan <>< There is a non-destructive repair install for Win98 when you find a CD post back and we can instruct further... As GX says EVERYONE needs a legit Windows CD sometime sooner or later.
