Solve : Windows Live One Care?

Answer»

Which antivirus program is incorporated into this product? I'm sure MICROSOFT didn't write their own. Historically their programs are stripped down versions of someone else's product (Like Defrag is a subset of Diskkeeper, etc.)http://www.pcpro.co.uk/news/news/80990

"Windows OneCare Live includes antivirus software, DEVELOPED through technologies acquired when it bought Romanian security firm GeCAD. As with other av products it uses both signature and heuristic or behavioural approaches for identifying and swatting nasty code."

I think thats GeCad's home page.wow, a mod asking a question, its the worlds 8th wonder! No mod CLAIMS to know everything. I was just curious, as historically Microsoft has bought, rather than innovated, solutions. (They also frequently just APPROPRIATE the code later. Lets watch for that!)

Obviously they got this for a song from an unknown if that is true. I have never heard of this antivirus before. Have you?Quote

Just swap out the DVD drive with any old DVD or CD drive. (Preferably a fast one.)

GX1_Man here can do that blindfolded, with both hands tied behind his back, whilst being pursued by killer bees, his body smeared in honey, with a volcano erupting in the distant background and an earthquake happening in the immediate vicinity, in five seconds or less.

Simple.

LOL ........ what world do you live in.
There is so much that we mere mortals don't know .
Just because the tag ..."Mod" is attched to some of us , that certainly doesn't mean we know it all ............ far from it . Like Gx1_Man , I had not heard of that company . If someone had asked me that question I would have probably said Giant ...... ( as M/S aquired them recently as well ) ....thats where antispyware Beta came from and I believe led to M/S Defender .

dl65 Yeah, I used RAV once, a while ago. It was okay. Not a big hitter, but the code seemed solid enough.Quote
