Answer»

For some reason Windows Media Player 11 & 10 isn't loading, there is no error message, I just click on it and nothing happens. I opned task manerger and moniterd what happens when I try open windows media player , when I click on it to open it it loads but no physical window comes up, it stays on for a few sceond and goes off. Help!Oh yea, I also tried to uninstall and reinstall but still the same thing was happening.Try this (Maybe create a restore point first)...

1. Click Start, click Accessories, the right click on Command Prompt and choose "run as administrator", then type regsvr32 jscript.dll, and then hit enter.

2. Type regsvr32 vbscript.dll then hit enter.

3. Now type exit and hit enter. Now try media player and it should work.Thank you, I forgot 2 post that I managed to fix the problem, like your post, I needed to register that DLL again.  This happened to me as well.
I just restarted my computer and it worked again. Quote from: Rowena on AUGUST 06, 2009, 01:23:31 AM

No I don't need support I was just giving my tips.
Look I am a young computer student and am just trying to give advice to people.
I don't intend to be a nuisance.I can appreciate that you want to be helpful, but quite often the wrong advice can do more damage than no advice, you need a lot of work on your troubleshooting techniques.in all fairness I've come into several page long threads that have GONE completely away from the problem and been exploring a completely incorrect avenue of diagnosis and presented a simple SOLUTION that fixed the underlying issue  or brought things back onto the right track.

In none of those circumstances did I detract from the troubleshooting abilities of those who were assisting, or offering advice in that thread. In reply to QUANTOS, I reply to posts only I know I CAN answer.....not just for fun.
My troubleshooting abilities have nothing to do with this BTW.
If I don't know a solution to something, then I skip the post and go to something else.

Don't get me wrong, don't let me discourage you.  I was making an observation, it's possible that the observation didn't need to be shared.
