I was looking at the windows recovery console on this dell machine and it wants an administrator password to do anything. I don't remember putting any passwords at all on this machine during installation of my windows 7 home premium.  I'm thinking this might be a default password.  Any ideas? What EXACTLY are you trying to do?A Sharpie install is what i suspect...It looks like I got recovery cosole and restore mixed up.  I was actually thinking of RESTORING to a previous point and was going to do it with recovery.  It is labled Windows XP recovery console.Who set up this PC ? ?
Did it have XP installed at one point in time ?
