Answer» How do I store a symbol, from the symbol PULL down menu, elsewhere for easy access while typing a document? useing word 2007. Thanks eddie460Put it in a clipboard. You can have many clipboards. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/221190 Of course, that may seem to be an overkill. But if you are no using the clipboards for anything else, don't worry.Open Word CLICK on the Insert tab then in the Symbols group click Symbol, then More Symbols. Choose the Font that the symbol is from (like Symbol or Wingdings). Locate the symbol you WANT to use and single click to select it. At the BOTTOM of the Symbol box there is a Shortcut key button here you will see if there is already a shortcut for that particular symbol you selected.4 If not, key in a shortcut and click on Assign. Close down the windows and test your shortcut.Another option might be to create a simple macro that inserts the symbol.
