Solve : word perfect lightning?

Answer»

i am running a WORDPERFECT X5 program for my word processor. this version comes with a pdf viewer called word perfect lightning.  most times everything goes as planned and i can VIEW the content without problem.  sometimes though, i small box APPEARS saying the site is "password protected" and wanting me to type a password.  well, i have no idea what password it wants, as i am only TRYING to open a restaurant menu for christ's sake.  has anyone ever experienced this problem?  and what do i do to either avoid, or solve this problem??Try it with a freebie called Foxit Reader...lightweight but very good app.
See if it does the same thing.

PS: I just thought of something...pdf's have the optionof password protection...are you SURE lightning isn't a pdf editor ? ?
That would trigger a password prompt.

At any rate DLoad and try Foxit. It could be it's asking you to type in the password per-emptively if you want to edit it. I would say go for Foxit, it's a great reader. I would disable the browser plugin it asks to install, a lot of drive-by malware is delivered through PDF now.i have another idea. if i change my default pdf viewer to adobe, then the problem is solved. right?  if i wanted to keep word perfect as my word processor and change my pdf viewer from lightning to adobe, how would i do that?Right clik a PDF file in Explorer...
Select Open With...then point it to Adobe Reader in the dropdown list...
Then check the box "always use this app to open this filetype"...
