Answer» N2U400-A ECS mobo with LG GSA H55 DVD drive and running XP
Drive worked for YEARS I have 3 computers was moving drives around to replace a failed older CD drive. Drive installed on secondary IDE as master all by itself. HD is on primary IDE as Master again by itself.
Bios reports both devices. On boot up XP report New device found cDRom then reports something went wrong during installation, access denied and device not properly set up MAY not work properly.
No auto detect on DVD Drive cant GET movie to run by itself , but drive BRINGS upscreen with two fields " Jacket" and something else. If I double click on one of the files in folder CyberDVD ( think that's what its called) runs and the movie plays flawlessly.
CD is on "E" , HD is on "C" and new volume is on" E"
Tried Device manager / update DRIVER/ install from list or specific location/ Browse /Windows / system32/drivers could not get it to accept OK to search driver file
