Presence or absence of FLOWERS,fruits and seeds. C. Whether seeds are enclodes within a fruit or not. d. Number of cotyledons in the seeds. II. Animals can be identified based on the following characteristics `:` a. Amphibians -LARVAL forms live in water, whereas adults can live on land as well as in water, e.g., Frogs. b. Pisces - Presence of paired, unpaired fins,spindle-shaped body. e.g., Fishes -Rohu c. Reptiles-Creep on land. Their skin is dry and scaly, e.g., Lizards. d. Aves- Exoskeleton is present in the form of feathers. e.g., Birds-crows,sparrows. e. Mammals- Presence of mammary glands. Body is covered with hairs or fur. e.g., Dogs. f. Annelids -Body is metamerically segmented and covered with cuticle .e.g.,Earthworms g. Arthropods - They have joined appendages and chitinous exoskeleton. e.g., Cockroaches h.
