1.

The cost of \(7\frac{2}{3}\) metres of rope is Rs \(12\frac{3}{4}\). Find its cost per metre.

Answer»

It is given that,

\(\frac{7\times 3+2}{3}\) = \(\frac{23}{3}\)metre of rope is Rs. \(\frac{12\times 4+3}{4}\)

Let cost of 1 metre be x

So,

\(x\times \frac{23}{3}\) = \(\frac{51}{4}\)

x = \(\frac{151}{92}\) = \(1\frac{61}{92}\)

Therefore,

Cost of rope is Rs. \(1\frac{61}{92}\) per metre
