Answer» Solution :i. Although production of certain harmful CHEMICALS has been banned in developed nations, they are still being PRODUCED indeveloping and poor countries. This can lead to disasters. ii. Increase in atomic energy plants in many countries poses a threat to life, in case of radiation leakage due to CARELESSNESS. iii. Example: In an atomic energy plant at Chernobyl , Russia, meant for electricity generation, radiation leakage occurred after a blast. The after -effects of this disaster were long term and catastrophic. iv. Human activities cause DRASTIC changes in the atmosphere leading to various natural disasters like droght, flood etc. Hence importance of disaster management has become the foremost REQUIREMENT of almost all the nations. |
